How can I see what Broadband speed my neighbours are getting in my road, and how do I know if my speed is slower than what I should expect?
Broadband Speed Comparison website
There’s a comparison website with a search facility – all you have to do is put in your postcode and it will show you with a Google style map what speeds are available in your area to each house ! You will be able to see if High Speed Fibre Broadband is available in your area by looking at the download speeds.
Normal Internet speeds are maximum around 15mb/sec. Then Fibre to the Cabinet or BT Infinity lines run up to around 80mb/sec download speed.
Openreach then bought out something called G-Fast Broadband. I believe this goes up to around 150mb/sec.
High Speed Full Fibre to the Premises, or FTTP Internet can be 500mb/sec or more! That’s a phenominal speed! It uses the brand new Optic Fibre network being installed in a street near you.
