Have a Home Office?
Good Internet is Essential when working from home...
How to Improve WiFi and Internet for all your work from home jobs
Since the Lock Down, a growing number of people now have Work From Home Jobs. Utilizing a spare room or outbuilding they have set up a Home Office environment. One major concern for many people is “How do I get good Internet to my Home Office?”
We’ve all experienced frustration being cut off from a call or losing our Internet completely. A Direct Wired Connection will make Work From Home Jobs far easier.
When Range Extenders don't work..
WiFi extenders work well inside your house, but reaching an outbuilding isn’t as successful. To provide a stable, strong connection particularly if your Home Office walls contain Celotex Insulation consider running Ethernet cable. Because the foil backing blocks WiFi signal from the Router you may not be able to connect to the Internet.
Powerline Adapters are unlikely to work if your Home Office electricity is supplied from a separate Fuse Box. So, what you need is a hard wired Ethernet Network Connection for trouble free good Internet. Losing your work because your connection is unreliable to your Office Mainframe could be stressful.
A Direct Wired Home Office Network is exactly what you need!
The very best solution is to run an Exterior Grade CAT6 cable from your Router. It can go around your outside wall and along a fence to your Outbuilding or Home Office setup. Can you bury the cable or conceal along a flower bed? If so, you need to run CAT6 Armoured Cable. This is much more resistant to the elements and will provide you with years of trouble-free installation. You will have fast, reliable Internet at all times. CAT5 cable is OK, but over a longer distance it is preferable to use CAT6 cable. So, a strong signal strength from the Router will still be available at a considerable distance.
So easy to connect everything up!
The engineer will mount an Ethernet Network Socket on the wall close to your Router, connected using a Patch Lead. At the far end – your Home Office, a Network Socket will be fixed on the wall with a Patch Lead to feed your Computer. You now have a Hardwired connection to the Router without any loss of signal or speed. Your Work From Home Jobs will now be stress-free!

Seamlessly Connect all your Devices...
So, you need one more gadget so that you can plug a computer, TV, Games Consul and the Wireless Access point into the wall socket. It’s called a Netgear Switch and comes in various sizes. The smaller version allows you to plug in four devices, this one – up to seven. Think of it like a ‘mains extension plug block’ – for Ethernet signals.
Strong WiFi even far away from your house!
You can’t have two Routers but you can have a Wireless Access Point. If you want excellent WiFi coverage within your Home Office and possibly extending around the garden adjacent to it, then you need to purchase a Wireless Access Point. These act just like a second Router and provide you with a Wireless Hotspot within your office. If you position it on a window sill you will find the range of coverage in the surrounding garden is increased as the signal does not have to pass through the Celotex insulated wall.

Spread a Strong Signal to remote parts of your house...
The Wireless Access Point can be used alone plugged into the Network Socket, or it can be used in conjunction with the Netgear Switch and other direct connected devices such as Laptops. Because it receives its signal through the cable that my engineer will install to a remote part of the house, it is a far better alternative to Boosters. Work From Home Jobs such as Zoom Calls, Skype and Remote Printing will all now work seamlessly.
Yes - Your Router Can be Moved...
Should it not be possible to run a CAT6 cable from the Router to the Outbuilding from its existing position, the Router and Telephone Line can be shifted to a new better location in preparation for the rest of the work.
Its also possible to move your master socket to get a better performing setup.
